Sheepherders Wagon

Experience what it was like to live the life of a sheepherder, caring for your animals, and living in a wagon without electricity or modern conveniences. Out sheepherder’s wagon is located next to a small spring and within a few yards of a creek and pools of flowing water that travels across rock ledges creating a constantly changing melody of sight & sounds. While not for everybody, this is a different experience that will always be memorable, a chance to really experience nature in harmony with its own terms.

The sheepherder’s wagon is original and was built by a sheepherd who spent many years in similar wagons. It is designed to be a self contained unit, complete with a double bed, eating area and storage areas for supplies, all within a 7’x14’ area. We also provide you with an outside table and chairs, propane cooking stove with pans, dishes and utensils, drinking water, kerosene lanterns, fire area, and outhouse. You will need to provide your own bedding, towels, and other supplies. Located about 1/2 mile from the Main Hall, the Sheepherders Wagon is accessible with all wheel drive vehicles or we will provide transportation to take you to the wagon. Of course modern restrooms and showers are available at the Main Hall if you want to venture out.
